# AI Theme Suggestions

{/* category: Badge Design & Templates */}

Essal Access includes an AI-powered theme generator that automatically designs your badge based on a natural language description. You describe the look you want, and the AI configures the layout, colors, fonts, and enabled elements for you.

> **Availability**: The AI Theme Suggestions feature is available on select plans and may not be visible in your account. If you do not see it, your plan does not currently include this feature or it has not been enabled for your organization. Contact support for information on enabling it.

## What AI Theme Suggestions Does

When the feature is available, an **AI Theme** section appears in the Badge Designer's right panel. It contains:

* A **text input** where you describe the badge style you want
* A **Generate Theme** button that triggers the AI

After generating, the AI automatically applies:

| Setting | Description |
| --------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Layout** | One of the 7 badge layouts (Modern, Corporate, Minimal, etc.) |
| **Font** | Sans, serif, or monospace — matched to the style |
| **Primary & Accent Colors** | Colors chosen to match your description |
| **Front Elements** | Toggles for which fields to show/hide on the badge front |
| **Company Name & Tagline** | Updated to match the brand style description |

This is the only way to change the badge **font** without manually editing badge configuration — the font option is not exposed in the standard Branding panel UI.

## How to Use AI Theme Suggestions (When Available)

1. Open the **Badge Designer** from the sidebar
2. In the right panel, click the **Branding** tab
3. Scroll to the **AI Theme** section
4. Type a description of your desired badge style — for example:
   * *"Modern tech company with dark navy blue and orange accents"*
   * *"Clean corporate look for a financial firm, minimal and professional"*
   * *"Bold and colorful conference badge with serif fonts"*
5. Click **Generate Theme**
6. Wait a few seconds while the theme is generated
7. Review the applied result in the canvas preview
8. Adjust any settings you want to fine-tune manually
9. Click **Save** to save the configuration

## Tips for Better Results

* **Be specific about industry and tone**: "law firm, conservative, dark navy" gives better results than just "professional"
* **Mention colors** if you have brand colors: "primary royal blue #1a3e7a with gold accents"
* **Include layout hints**: "full-width, minimal, photo-left" helps guide the AI
* **Iterate**: If the first result isn't right, adjust the description and generate again — the badge preview updates each time
* **Fine-tune manually**: AI output is a starting point. Use the color pickers, layout selector, and element toggles to refine the final result

***

## What AI Themes Cannot Do

* AI cannot set your **company logo** — upload it separately in the Branding tab
* AI cannot configure the **badge back** — adjust back side elements manually
* AI cannot pull live employee data — it configures the template, not individual badges
* Changes are not saved until you click **Save** — generating a theme does not auto-save

## Troubleshooting

**"Generate Theme" button is missing**
The AI Theme feature is not available on your current plan. Contact Essal Access support to ask about enabling it.

**No visible changes after generating**
Check that the badge canvas is showing the Front side (click "Front" in the canvas toolbar). The AI configures front-side settings primarily.

**Generated colors look wrong**
The AI may interpret color descriptions differently. After generating, click the color swatches in the Branding panel to manually adjust primary and accent colors to match your exact brand values.
